Summer is here with a vengence! I hope everyone is staying cool. Pastorius Park Concerts continue throughout July. Congratulations to the Concerts Committee on doing such a fantastic job with the performer selection, every one has been great! Movies Under the Stars starts in August at the Water Tower park (read more below) – we hope to see you there!

Chestnut Hill Community Association Wants Your Input
Focus Groups are being held in July, please join us!
The CHCA is looking to expand its membership benefits and we need your input! We are conducting independent focus groups on July 16th and 18th at 7:00 pm to discuss current membership value and potential additional perks for our members. We are looking to find additional things that you, as a member, would value as well as benefits that you feel would help attract new members. The information we gather will be part of a strategic plan to increase CHCA membership as well as a retention plan for current members.

Chestnut Hill Community Association’s
Annual Meeting and Community Supper
Thank you to everyone who joined us! It was a lovely evening. Dr. William R. Valerio spoke about the transformation in recent years at Woodmere Art Museum, and plan to work with Andropogon Associates, a Landscape Architecture and Ecological Design firm, to create an outdoor sculpture garden.
The evening included Annual Summary Reports on the CHCA, Chestnut Hill Local and the Chestnut Hill Community Fund.
We also honored winners of our Chestnut Hill Award, Meritorius Service Award and Benefactor’s Award.
The Chestnut Hill Award, for the preservation of Erdenheim Farm to the Widener and Dixon Families, Natural Lands, The Whitemarsh Foundation, and the McCausland Family.
The Meritorious Service Award, for her work as the chairperson of the Pastorius Park Concert Series, Julie Byrne.
The Benefactor’s Award, for the donation to CHCA’s tree-planting and green space initiative,the Estate of James A. Black, Jr.

71th Annual Pastorius Park Concerts, Wednesdays, 7:30 pm, FREE
Pastorius Park Concerts Continue into July!
Police and Firefighters honored on July 10
It’s been a fabulous series so far and we have three more concerts to enjoy in July. Bring blankets and chairs and enjoy the music. The free concerts are supported by both the Chestnut Hill Community Association and Main Sponsor, Chestnut Hill Hospital.
The donations collected at our July 10 concert, featuring Beppe Gambetta, will go to the Police District #14 Advisory Fund and the Firefighters Widow Fund. Please join the CHCA and make a donation! If you cannot attend the concert you can deliver your donation to CHCA, 8434 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118, or make an online donation on our website chestnuthill.org by 7/11/19.
Pastorius Park Concerts is the longest running outdoor concert series in Philadelphia! Concerts take place against the backdrop of one of Chestnut Hill’s most majestic areas. Bring blankets and chairs and enjoy the music!.
Pastorius Park is located two blocks west of Germantown Avenue, on Millman Street. Rain location- If a show is rained out, it will take place at our new rain venue, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy’s Chapel @ the Inn, 500 West Willow Grove Avenue

Big News!! Films Announced for Chestnut Hill’s
Friday Night Movies Under the Stars
August 2, 9, 16, 23; Free
Food Trucks arrive at 7:00 pm, Movie begins at 8:00 pm
Water Tower Recreation Center
Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnics to the lawn at the Water Tower Recreation Center and enjoy an evening of Movies Under the Stars! Each week we will also have delicious treats to enjoy at the food trucks, which arrive at 7:00 pm. The film begins as sunset, around 8:00 pm. Interested in becoming a Movie Night Sponsor? Was one of your resolutions for 2019 to get more involved and build your network of friends and colleagues? At the Chestnut Hill Community Association our volunteers collaborate throughout the year to bring our neighborhood vital, engaging and fun community events. Our summer events include weekly Wednesday evening Pastorius Park Concerts and starting in August our Friday Night Movies Under the Stars. Come out and help set up for the event around 6:30 pm, or stay a bit later and help us pack up.
We also have committees that help to promote membership in the CHCA, plant trees in our community, and plan summer programming.
