Serendipity of Chestnut Hill
When you think of what Serendipity means, maybe you think of unexpected good luck or finding interesting + valuable things by chance. Our brand, Serendipity, means a bit of both; we create an environment where customers can stumble upon special, unique gifts, often by luck.
We started a spontaneous family adventure with our first brick-and-mortar location opening in 2013. Over the years, Serendipity has evolved into a multi-location and e-commerce brand in and around Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Our teams, management structure, and vision have helped us create a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. The values we started with reverberate throughout our team and customer experience, now and for the future.

About twenty years ago, the original Zipf’s Candies stopped making chocolates and closed up shop. We decided to keep the name at our satellite location in Chestnut Hill and continue with a new vision for sourcing our candy. Now in business for forty-five years, the current owner is a chocolate maker and makes many of her own creations. We also source much of our chocolate from Lore’s Chocolate in Philadelphia, as well as a few selections from Asher’s and Gertrude Hawk. We have a rich and interesting history and act as a cornerstone business in the community.
