Museum Closure: Fourth of July
On Sunday, July 4, Woodmere’s galleries will be closed for the holiday. The Museum will reopen Wednesday, July 7.

Saturday Night Jazz All Summer Long
Saturdays through August 14
Woodmere and Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble’s partnership continues throughout the summer. Join us every Saturday evening for musical performances surrounded by monumental sculptures. July’s concerts feature the music of Bob Marley, Ma Rainey, and Sam Cooke. Concerts take place outdoors or indoors, depending on the weather. To see the full schedule and to purchase tickets, click here.

ARTZ-Connect Philadelphia Online Programs
For people living with dementia and their care partners: ARTZ-Connect Philadelphia and Woodmere Art Museum offer engaging online programs through interactions with artworks. ARTZ Philadelphia Director Dr. Susan Shifrin, an art historian, independent curator, and arts accessibility advocate facilitates the programs. Attendance is limited to ensure an intimate, comfortable experience for all.

New Exhibition & Opening Reception:
Roland Ayers: Calligraphy of Dreams
July 10 through October 24, 2021
Germantown-native Roland Ayers (1932–2014) developed a unique style and iconography that responded to the social and political climate of his time and referenced the broader canons of art history. Calligraphy of Dreams offers a thirty-year survey of Ayers’ progression toward his most noted medium: intricate drawings of ink on paper. On Saturday, July 10, please join us for an in-person opening reception.

Learn & Create: Upcoming Children’s Art Classes
Looking for summer activities for the kiddos? Art classes for children and teens begin in July and continue through August. Students can explore their creativity in a variety of mediums and topics, including Fun with Watercolor, Exploring the Dimensions of Sculpture, Myth & Monsters, and even Drama Camp! Indoor and outdoor classes are available with safety protocols in place.
