Thanksgiving Blessings from Norwood-Fontbonne Academy

Dear Norwood-Fontbonne Academy Community,

This new school year has brought great blessings to the Norwood-Fontbonne Community, and throughout the month of November we have had a schoolwide focus on gratitude.

The response to our first outreach of the year has been incredible. All families have traditions and Thanksgiving outreach is a treasured one for our NFA family. Thank you to Mr. McKenzie, Director of Mission and Ministry, and all of our families for your generous support. Our Community Service Corps students helped prepare and sort all of our donations. We are so happy to know that 25 families from amongst our partners at Visitation Parish in Kensington will enjoy a bountiful meal this Thanksgiving. Today, we gathered as a school family at Liturgy to celebrate, give thanks, and bless these meals, before our 6th grade delivered them to Kensington.

This tangible expression of our mission allows us to share a love that unites us with our brothers and sisters in Christ throughout our community and builds a deep connection for our students, putting faith into action and helping to create a world where “All people are United with God and One Another.” Today was a beautiful example of what we seek to instill every day, embodied in Maxim 33: “Desire to fill your daily actions with great love as did God’s dearest friends.”

It was also wonderful to welcome our “Grandfriends’” of our 4th and 5th grade students to join us for Liturgy and visit our classrooms. Our school is enriched by the deep support of our families and made so strong by these connections.

As we prepare for our family celebrations of Thanksgiving, please know that all of you in our extended Norwood-Fontbonne Academy family were remembered in prayer this morning. My heart is filled with gratitude for you all and please know that when my family gathers this Thursday, NFA will be at the top of our list!
