Garden Railway: Dinos!

This brand-new exhibition features a spectacular display of dinosaurs, including Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops, and Velociraptor, all made from natural materials like bark, leaves, and twigs. As one of the largest outdoor miniature train displays in the United States with more than 15 different rail lines running along a third of a mile of track, the Garden Railway will delight and amaze visitors of all ages. In addition, there will be dino-themed events and programs from May through September, including a pop-up paleontologist’s cottage featuring hands-on “dig stations,” dino story times, Fossil Fridays, and much more! Plants in the Age of Dinosaurs

The Morris goes Mesozoic! Visitors are invited to discover Plants in the Age of Dinosaurs—a self-guided exhibition featuring plants in our collection with roots that go back to prehistoric times. There is also a brand-new dinosaur exhibition in the Garden Railway, Garden Railway: Dinos! Plus, there will be a pop-up paleontologist’s cottage featuring hands-on “dig stations,” special family-friendly programming including Fossil Fridays, dino story time, and much more! The Wetland: A Unique Ecosystem Tour

The Wetland: A Unique Ecosystem Tour investigates many native plants and trees in the natural lands area near the Wissahickon Creek. This special tour includes a brief history of the area and describes the nature of the wetland ecosystem. The Wetland provides important resources—water, food, shelter—vital for plants, trees, and wildlife. This tour is off paved pathways, and visitors are advised to wear walking or hiking shoes. This month, we’re reading A Stone is a Story by Leslie Barnard Booth. “Where do rocks come from? The answer may be more incredible than you think! After all, a stone is not just a stone: a stone is a story. After reading, we’ll explore the Morris to find a stone and explore its qualities: What qualities do you share with that stone? Bubbles!

Join us every Tuesday for Bubbles! In this event just for kids we will transform the Azalea Meadow into a magical bubble party. The second Tuesday of the month will be Bubbles & Dance, where we’ll add music into the mix for animal dancing, slow-mo dance, freeze dance, and more! Wellness Walks
