Friends of the Wissahickon and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Host First Lincoln Drive Volunteer Cleanup Day – March 28

Join Friends of the Wissahickon (FOW) and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (PPR) as they close down Lincoln Drive for the first – and much-needed- volunteer cleanup on Saturday, March 28, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Lincoln Drive may provide scenic views of Wissahickon Valley Park’s southern section as it winds past Wissahickon Creek (the only road that does), but its high traffic also creates an excess of litter. Not only is the trash unsightly, it also ends up in the creek, which serves as a source of drinking water for over 350,000 Philadelphians.

Join FOW’s first event of the Super Saturday Volunteer Service Day season and help beautify the park. No experience is needed, and FOW supplies the tools, work gloves, and instruction. Meet at Historic Rittenhouse Town (208 Lincoln Drive). Register at https://fow.org/lincolndrive-hrt/.

The service day will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain or thunder and lighting, high winds, etc. For updates, visit FOW’s Facebook page or the Upcoming Workdays page at fow.org. Cancellations will be posted the day of by 8 a.m.
