Chef Al Paris Presents a 3-Course Pre-Lenten Feast for $30 on Tuesday, February 9th and The Bistro Unveils the “Duck Fat Sazerac”
$30 per person
New Orleans and Rio de Janiero aren’t the only places you can celebrate Mardi Gras. And it’s no longer the province of noisy bars on college campuses now that you can revel in the sophisticated environs of Paris Bistro in Chestnut Hill where you can enjoy a decadent 3-course dinner for $30.
Mardi Gras celebrations take place in most major French cities, but the city of Paris has the largest by far. Traditionally, the Lenten Season begins with one last meal filled with decadence (and fat) before one must give up one’s favorite culinary luxuries. That meal is served on Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday.
In keeping with the tradition of one last decadent meal, Paris Bistro is offering a menu that includes Carnival Rabbit Paté topped with a quail egg, a crepe of Duck Confit and Foie Gras accented with huckleberry jam and Vanilla Beignets with raspberries and cream for the grand finale.
Optional wine pairings will be available, but you might want to throw caution to the wind and try the Bistro’s new signature cocktail, The Duck Fat Sazerac. This proprietary recipe includes a duck fat and foie gras fat infused rye whiskey, absinthe, bitters and the addition of one other secret ingredient. It’s served chilled, up and in a snifter to be savored before, during or after dinner. The duck flavor is subtle and intriguing and provides a savory note that makes this drink food worthy.
The bistro’s a la carte menu is also available throughout the evening.
Paris Bistro is located at 8229 Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill. The full Mardi Gras Menu can be seen at parisbistro.net. Reservations can be made online at parisbistro.net or by calling 21 52 42 62 00.
