Springside Chestnut Hill Academy is hosting Julie Lycott-Haims, New York Times Bestseller of the book, How to Raise an Adult: Break Free from the Overparenting Trap and Prepare Your Kid for Success on Tuesday, February 13th at 7:00 PM.
Julie Lycott-Haim’s New York Times bestseller is a rallying cry for who wish to ensure their kids can take charge of their own lives with competence and confidence and, as parents, how we can “let go of perfect”. How to Raise an Adult emerged from Julie’s decade as Stanford’s Dean of Freshmen where she was known for fiercely advocating for young adults and taking note of helicopter parenting and the rise of over-involved parents who coddle their kids into college and beyond.
Julie offers practical strategies that highlight the importance of allowing children to make their own mistakes and develop resilience, resourcefulness, and inner determination for success.
