Dear Friend & Neighbors,

I hope everyone is staying cool during this very hot summer! There is a lot going on at the Community Association during the summer months. We had a great Pastorius Park Concert season and thank all our sponsors and all of you who came out to hear some great music.

We transitioned right to Movies Under the Stars in August and you can find free family friendly movies at the Upper Water Tower Park located on Ardleigh St. You can find out what’s playing further on in the newsletter.

2023 is a very special year for the CHCA, we are celebrating our 75th year! Stay tuned for lots of fun activities, throwback Thursdays, a Diamond Anniversary Celebration at the Cricket Club, and much more!

A recent survey that we sent out in partnership with the CH Conservancy and the CH Business District showed us that many people in Chestnut Hill would like to know more about zoning in Philadelphia and how it impacts them. We will be providing information about these topics and others every month in our e-newsletter. Below are some links and videos that can give you a good overview of how Chestnut Hill’s current development review process works and what the responsibilities of registered community organizations such as the CHCA, the CH Conservancy, and the CH Business District, are.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Regards,

Movies Under the Stars!

The neighborhood drive-in movie theater experience is reinvented and perfect for those lazy summer nights. Every Friday evening in August, we show popular films on the lawn of the Water Tower Recreation Center projected on a 26 foot screen. Families bring their friends, blankets, and lawn chairs and fill up the terraced lawn.  The fun starts at 7:00 p.m. with Philadelphia food trucks set up to sell delicious treats, entrees, beverages and sandwiches. Come early and enjoy a picnic before the film begins at 8:00 p.m.
