The Stagecrafters Theater kicks off the 2021-2022 season with a Philadelphia premiere for its return to the stage after a lengthy hiatus, offering the production of Rogues’ Gallery, by John Patrick Shanley. For the first time, a production at The Stagecrafters is part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.

Shanley’s gripping theatrical piece features ten offbeat and suspenseful monologues, delivered by a group of assorted individuals who tell us, each in his/her own unique way, about their loves, disappointments, transgressions, and the perturbing circumstances that life seems to be tossing their way. Journey with us through these alluring tales, dark and haunting, often touching, and much of the time … very funny!

John Patrick Shanley (b. 1950), American playwright, director, and screenwriter, is the creator of nearly two dozen plays that have been performed worldwide. One of his best known works, Doubt: A Parable (2005), ran on Broadway for nearly a year, winning four Tony Awards (including Best Play) in 2005, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Shanley wrote Rogues’ Gallery (2020) in response to the lockdown of the performing arts world during the pandemic, and is donating the proceeds of all performance royalties to the Actors’ Fund.
