Hello QTG Community!
On February 19th, we open our epic production of Rare Accidents, an abridgment of Henry IV Parts I and II. This Shakespearean history will be full of action and excitement for the whole community to enjoy. We cannot wait to see y’all at an upcoming student matinee! Education is thrilled to partner with a number of Northwest Philly arts and culture organizations to explore theatre making in new and exciting ways. In collaboration with Barbaric Yawp, GTown Radio, Cut & Sew, and Philadelphia School of Circus Arts, we will be offering incredibly diverse programming this spring and summer for kids and adults alike! We cannot wait to learn and create with you in the warmer months!

Stories of royal inheritance have long occupied theatrical stages. In Shakespeare’s plays Henry IV: Parts I and II, Prince Hal is expected to become the next King of England after his father seized the throne, but Hal spends his time engaging in debauchery with his friend Falstaff instead of preparing to rule. When Hotspur and his father challenge the king’s claim to the crown, a civil war threatens the kingdom and forces Hal to leave the tavern for the battlefield. Through this family conflict, Shakespeare examines what it truly means to be a good son, a loyal friend, and an effective leader. Quintessence’s abridged version will pack all of the glory, bloodshed, and epic prose into one night of theatre.
