Our DIASPORA COMMUNITY of IMMIGRANTS in PHILADELPHIA – A Learning Opportunity

Friday, Nov. 21 @ 7 PM

Join us for an evening dedicated to learning from and with our local Indonesian immigrant community. We will hear from several Philadelphia residents, who will share their personal journeys from Indonesia to the U.S., shedding light on the challenges and resilience of immigrant life in today’s climate of rising intolerance. The evening also features a screening of Stitching of Hope, a moving short film that portrays how trauma, memory, and identity interweave in the immigrant experience. We are honored that the film’s director Deddy Raksawardana will join us to enrich our discussion. Together, these stories honor the Indonesian diaspora’s strength in preserving cultural and historical ties while forging new roots in Philadelphia.
