Celebrating April as both Jazz Appreciation Month and National Poetry Month, percussionist and poet Karen “Magic Fingaz” Smith and The Karen Smith Experience will offer a unique musical program featuring drums, keyboard, guitar, and saxophone. The founder of the group, Karen is a recipient of the 2023 Pew Fellowship and more recently the 2025 Illuminate the Arts Award. She is one of the most sought-after multidisciplinary artists in our area. Karen Smith comes to the Chestnut Hill Library on April 7th at 5:15pm.

Battle of the Bookclubs Trivia Night – Thank You!

On February 28th we held our second annual Battle of the Bookclubs Trivia Night and we’re so grateful to everyone who supported us: trivia attendees, raffle buyers, silent auction bidders, event sponsors, volunteers, and the vibrant community of small business owners who donated toward this event.

Together we raised more than $15,000 for our library branch.

These funds will support library programs such the upcoming Textile Arts Workshop series, Horticulture Workshop series, Meet the Musicians concert series, Yoga for Curious Kids, and more. Additionally, funds support library building repairs and expand the library collections—these resources are a huge benefit to one of our most precious community hubs and cultural centers, our library branch. Thank you!
