CHMOW presents Art on Wheels
 Register for a special workshop…coming up next week! CHMOW presents…  We are very excited to announce the launch of “Art on Wheels,” a collaborative project with Allens Lane Art Center, that allows our MOW clients to participate in art and with each other, based upon their interests and capacities. There is something for everyone in Art on Wheels! “Why art in a meals program,” you ask? Good question!Studies find that engaging creatively, especially through interaction with others, enhances the health and mental health of older adults, while decreasing loneliness and isolation. We want to offer the seniors we serve an opportunity to learn, grow and create to enhance their well-being…a mental and social complement to the meals they receive. The project includes 5 components:Lunch Bag Art – art items are sent with meals to the homes of all our clients, for them to view and respond. Art in a Box – art kits are sent to those who want to create on their own or with a friend at home. Arts OnLine and Art Center Courses allow clients to take an art class through Allens Lane Art Center, either virtually or in person (with transportation provided). ArtBound Road Trips – allow MOW clients to visit a local art gallery or exhibit to view and discuss art together. Interested in being involved? There will be opportunities to assist with the programs: help “chaperone” a gallery trip, assist a senior with an art kit project, help seniors get online to attend an art class, etc. Join us for a FREE kick-off workshop led by Lifetime Arts, a national forerunner for supporting older adults through creative engaement. “Creative Aging”Thursday, March 26 7 – 8 pm via Zoom (Registrants can watch the event at any time) Register HERE Art On Wheels is made possible through an Innovation Grant from The Sarah Ralston Foundation.
