Eric Serritella is a master ceramicist whose favorite muse is the birch tree of Pennsylvania’s own eastern woodlands. Having recently set up a new studio in North Carolina, Eric has been continuing to refine his extraordinarily meticulous – and sometimes whimsical – ceramic constructions that lay bare the curling bark, twisting limbs, and living memory of the birches behind their leaves. Never content with perfection in just one arena, Eric’s new work is an exploration of pate de verre glass, fusing the two techniques in surprising ways.
