Join Friends of the Wissahickon for a Bells Mill Road Cleanup

April 18 @ 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
Join Friends of the Wissahickon for a Bells Mill Road Cleanup for Earth Day and MLK Jr. Day of Service (Rescheduled) – 4/18
PHILADELPHIA – March 31, 2026 – Join Friends of the Wissahickon (FOW) on Saturday, April 18, at a special large-scale cleanup along Bells Mill Road to celebrate both Earth Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service (after bad weather forced the January event’s cancellation).
By removing litter along the roadway, FOW and volunteers can prevent trash from washing into the Wissahickon Creek during rainstorms and help protect habitat and stream health.
For everyone’s safety, Bells Mill Road will be closed from Lykens Lane to Germantown Avenue beginning at 7 a.m. the day of the cleanup. No experience is needed; FOW provides gloves, tools, and instruction. Wear sturdy footwear and long pants, and bring water along.
Confirmation of the meeting location and other information will be sent by email the Friday before the event. Groups of five or more people should reach out to Marisa Miller at miller@fow.org.
The event takes place from 9 a.m. to noon. Register here.
