In 1982, this revolutionary thinker and maker built an 86-foot long, three-story tall ark in the Central Ward of Newark as an act of protest, tenacity, and imagination. Tawana’s declaration: “There’s no place left on land for me.” White Box Theatre’s Sebastienne Mundheim uses puppetry, dance, electric cello and storytelling to illuminate this arresting tale.
