Short description (for calendars with a word limit): Former Chestnut Hill College disability director Kristin Tracy Porter signs her new memoir, After the Shatter: Reshaping the Face of Healing. At 22, she survived a brainstem stroke after doctors gave her five minutes to live. Come hear what came after.
Full description: At 22, two months from her college graduation, Kristin Tracy Porter survived a brainstem stroke that doctors said would kill her in five minutes. She woke up unable to move or speak, and was told she would never walk again. She went on to earn two master’s degrees, direct the Disability Resource Center at Chestnut Hill College from 2011 to 2018, and run her first 5K 21 years after the stroke. Join Kristin at Booked to celebrate her new memoir, After the Shatter: Reshaping the Face of Healing, a funny, unflinching story of healing, faith and building a life after the plan falls apart. Books will be available for signing.
