What better way to demonstrate how close you feel to your
loved one than wrapping them in a token of your devotion.
Gravers Lane Gallery has invited 30 of our favorite artists, jewelers and sculptors to
create unique lariats for this festive season of giving. From fine links of gold and
silver and beautiful gems, to heavy steel, reclaimed objects, colorful zip ties and
crocheted works of wonder, you’ll find pieces that straddle the line of
body adornment to wall art.
Interpretations of what a lariat can be range from local artists Marthe Roberts-Shea’s classic bolo and Teresa Shield’s soft, felted petals to California’s Tierse Nureyev’s sensuous multi-chained mesh piece and New York’s Biba Schutz’s three-element
offering that can be worn as a belt as well as a necklace.
