Welcome Back Again!
With updated guidance from the City and Commonwealth, Woodmere’s galleries will once again reopen to the public, this time on Saturday, January 9th! Enjoy calm and inspiring experiences with Philadelphia’s art through Group ’55 and Midcentury Abstraction, Just In: Schofield, Woodmere’s historic Founder’s Collection, and more. As a reminder, new hours, protocols, and frequently asked questions are provided on our website. Masks are required, and reserving timed tickets in advance is highly encouraged.

Reminder: Class Registration Deadline Approaches
The next session of online art classes begins January 10th. Woodmere’s faculty, some of Philadelphia’s finest professional artists, teach a wide range of topics, including portrait drawing and painting, abstraction, watercolor, and printmaking. All classes will be offered online in accordance with current Philadelphia Department of Health guidelines.

MLK, Jr. Day Family Program (Virtual)
Musicians: Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble
Woodmere and members of the Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble present a family program celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement. Explore the story behind Harriet Tubman’s journey to freedom and the legacy of Dr. King through musical narratives, the art of Jerry Pinkney, and interactive activities for children and families.
The Chestnut Hill Business and Community Associations are proud partners of this event. Art activity books to accompany the program are available for pickup at various Chestnut Hill locations. Click here for more details.

Shop Online, Pickup Curbside
Shopping Woodmere’s Museum Store supports the museum and artists from the region. While the brick-and-mortar store remains closed due to social distance guidelines, the online Museum Store offers a curated selection of unique items crafted by local artists and makers for purchase. In addition, virtual personal-shopping experiences with curbside pickup are available by phone with Store Director Stephen Kerzner. Art Talk with Barbara Wolanin
Guest Curator Barbara Wolanin joins the DC chapter of the Women’s Caucus for Art to talk about Woodmere’s exhibition, Group ’55 and Midcentury Abstraction in Philadelphia. Dr. Wolanin will answer questions and prompt discussions to make this an interactive experience. The event is free for WCADC members.
