Join Woodmere in celebrating the art and artists of the Group ‘55 exhibition through an online closing reception. The online program will feature a new film on the exhibition, along with a conversation between Bill Valerio; Patricia Stark Feinstein; Barbara Wolanin, PhD; and Kassem Amoudi. Group ‘55 and Midcentury Abstraction in Philadelphia is on view through Sunday, May 9.

Saturday Night Jazz Preview:
A Tribute to Sarah Vaughan
Saturday Night Jazz returns to Woodmere’s grounds for a preview of the upcoming season, which will officially kick off in June. Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend with an evening of outdoor jazz that pays tribute to Sarah Vaughan. Tickets to this event are limited, and protocols in accordance with current health and safety guidelines will be in place. As a token of appreciation to our loyal jazz patrons, a special dedicated announcement will be emailed as soon as the summer series tickets go on sale.

Meet the Artist: Tom Judd
Tom Judd will be at Woodmere for a socially distanced opportunity to meet the artist in the galleries! Through preparatory studies and in-process photographs of the installation, History in Motion: Tom Judd’s Subway Mural offers museum visitors a glimpse into the artistic process, planning, and creation of Judd’s new Portal to Discovery mural at SEPTA’s 5th Street/Independence Hall Station.

Impressionism: A View from Philadelphia

While Pennsylvania Impressionism is generally associated with Bucks County, many of its leading practitioners were students of Robert Vonnoh at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and they remained part of our city’s art scene. Impressionism: A View from Philadelphia, which opens Saturday, May 22, will offer a Philadelphia-centric perspective on American Impressionism through works from the Museum’s collection. Join Bill Valerio for an online program welcoming Woodmere’s newest exhibition that includes a number of recent acquisitions!

Campaign to Save St. Michael’s Hall
Woodmere has until June 15 to raise the funds to acquire St. Michael’s Hall and begin the restoration process. All gifts up to $2 million will be matched thanks to a generous commitment by a visionary community member.
