Labor Day: Africa in the Arts of Philadelphia Closes
The exhibition, described as an “explosion of life” by Philadelphia Inquirer’s art critic Thomas Hine, closes on Labor Day, Monday, September 7. The museum will be open 10am-5pm, so don’t miss the opportunity to see the work of Barbara Bullock, Charles Searles, and Twins Seven-Seven.

Lessons Learned Through Gilbert Lewis:
A Gallery Talk with Aaron Feltman
Join artist Aaron Feltman for an online gallery talk of Gilbert Lewis: Many Faces, Many Figures. A recent graduate from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts—the alma mater of Gilbert Lewis and where he once taught—Feltman will share insights he has gleaned from spending time with Lewis’s work to help viewers understand how his teachings can live on through his paintings.

Saturday Night Jazz Season Opener
Saturdays through October 10
Jazz is back! The series moves outdoors and to Saturday evenings this fall with new protocols in accordance with health and safety guidelines. Tickets will be limited to 50 guests per session and masks are required. Bring seating and a snack, and enjoy the transition to fall with evenings of jazz at Woodmere.

Sam Feinstein, Group ’55, and Midcentury Abstraction in Philadelphia

Attend the online opening reception and celebrate this multi-venue initiative that involves three exhibitions: Sam Feinstein: Immersive Abstraction and Group ’55 and Midcentury Abstraction in Philadelphia at Woodmere, and Sam Feinstein: The Early Years at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy. All three exhibitions will open to the public on Saturday, September 26, 2020.

Mica at Woodmere Dining Events
Tuesdays-Thursdays
Woodmere and Mica have teamed up to offer minimal contact and socially-distant outdoor dining events surrounded by the majestic outdoor sculpture on Woodmere’s grounds. Three-course dining and museum experiences are offered Tuesday through Thursday in two seatings, 6pm and 7:30pm.

Woodmere’s annual straw maze will look a little different this year. We’re creating a journey through the Museum’s grounds, in and around our outdoor sculpture. The Straw Journey will open this fall so stay tuned for details!

Music and Fashion Show This Weekend
A reminder to join us this Saturday, August 29, for an afternoon of music and fashion on Woodmere’s grounds. Come celebrate the exhibition Africa in the Arts of Philadelphia with music by Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble, a fashion show modeled around outdoor sculpture, and vendors selling African-inspired fashion, accessories, and jewelry.
$25 ($20 members) | Two sessions: 12-2:30pm // 3:30-6pm
