An Open Invitation to Fine Artists
Chestnut Hill is hosting a Plein Air event in association with the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s Inside/Out project. Both PMA and Woodmere Art Museum will install reproductions of their collections along Germantown Avenue. For the Plein Air event artists will set up along Germantown Avenue to paint in the open air. This location has the advantage of landscapes that are commercial, residential and pastoral. Applicants will be juried. Participants will be judged.

Date: Sunday June 14 (rain date June 21)
Time: Set up 8 a.m.
Judging: 1p.m. to 3 p.m.
Closing Event/Prize Announcements: 4 p.m.
Fee: $30.00
Early Registration Fee: $20 by April 13
Prizes: Judges-First/$250, Second/$150, Third/$100
First Place Extra: Free space at Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts Festival Sunday October 4 to sell/exhibit (value $165)
Location: Germantown Avenue between Willow Grove Avenue and Rex Avenue
Miscellaneous:
Artists can sell from their portfolios
Locations will be assigned by lottery
Completed paintings will be added to online gallery post event
Application Process:
- Must be 18 or above to apply
- Submit 3 digital non-photo enhanced images and resume to Kate O’Neill/koneill@chestnuthillpa.com
- Application Deadline: April 30
- Notifications (with locations) Mailed: May 22
- Accepted work may be used for promotional materials
