Philadelphia Water Department to Make Repairs on Two Sites in the Wissahickon Valley Park
Park projects slated to occur in next weeks will affect park users in the Valley Green Inn area.
Philadelphia, PA— The Philadelphia Water Department will be making repairs to two sites near Valley Green in the Wissahickon Valley Park in the immediate future.
The first project is an emergency sewer relining project near Valley Green Inn. The repairs will take place in a zone beginning approximately 500 yards upstream and extending down to approximately 500 yards downstream of Valley Green Inn. Access to Forbidden Drive and parking lot access along Forbidden Drive and Valley Green Road may be disrupted for short periods during the 60-day construction window.
The second project is a repair project of infrastructure and will take place in the tributary stream corridow on Valley Green Road, just below the upper parking lot. The temporary stairwell that was built will be closed during construction and pedestrians will need to walk on the road to enter the lower part of the park.
The project will continue for up to 12 weeks. Visit fow.org for updates on both the projects and how they will affect park users.
