Due to new circumstances and nationwide guidelines set forth by Warner Brothers Entertainment, we regretfully confirm that the Chestnut Hill Harry Potter Festival will no longer take place in the same fashion as previous years. On behalf of the Chestnut Hill Business District, our members, and partners, we would like to thank the thousands of fans and visitors that have joined us in Chestnut Hill and truly made this event magical. While we are disappointed that this fan-favorite festival will have to change, we hope that all of our guests who discovered the unique charm of Chestnut Hill through this festival will continue to visit us for years to come. We invite all of our festival fans to join us this October for a new celebration of wizardry and wonder, including:
Friday, October 19, 2018: Witches & Wizards Night on Germantown Avenue
This event will include a ticketed pub crawl, extended hours at local businesses with sales/specials, live entertainment, family-friendly programming, and Halloween delights on the Hill. Attendees will be encouraged to come in costume. Chestnut Hill College will once again host its Harry Potter Academic Conference this day as well.
Saturday, October 20, 2018: To Be Determined
There will not be a closed street festival on Saturday, October 20. Detailed plans for Saturday are still in development, but visitors and locals alike are encouraged to come to Chestnut Hill and explore the many attractions, shops, restaurants, and activities the destination offers year-round. Further festival/programming details for this date will be announced later this summer.
Known as Philadelphia’s Garden District, there is magic in Chestnut Hill all year long with dynamic attractions and a robust events calendar. Join us for First Wednesdays on The Hill (through December), Petapalooza (July 8), and the annual Fall for the Arts Festival (September 30). Check back for exciting events and destination updates!
