Exhibition tour and reception at the Brandywine Museum of Art
Join us at the Brandywine Museum of Art to view a special exhibition, In Shadows’ Embrace: Prints by Peter Paone. A renowned Philadelphia artist and friend of Woodmere, Paone mastered painting, drawing, and printmaking over his seven-decade career. In Shadows’ Embrace offers a rare glimpse into Paone’s early printmaking, featuring 22 works, including his 1963 portfolio The Ten Commandments of Ambrose Bierce. Influenced by German Expressionism and Goya, Paone’s art explores deep themes of faith, loneliness, and death. As a special highlight, the artist himself will join us for the exclusive tour of the exhibition, followed by an intimate reception—a unique opportunity to hear directly from Paone about his creative journey.
We will meet in the lobby at the Brandywine Museum of Art at 10:45 am, located at 1 Hoffman’s Mill Rd, Chadds Ford, PA 19317. A reminder email will be sent out two days before the event.

Meet Woodmere’s new Marketing Manager, Marie Latham
This summer, we were so happy to welcome Marie Latham who serves as Marketing Manager.
We asked Marie to describe what drew her to Woodmere and her favorite works of art in the collection:
“During my past few years living down the hill in Manayunk, Woodmere has always been a favorite of mine! I feel so lucky to come into Woodmere every day and learn more about the vibrant art of the city I’ve called home. One of my favorite pieces is the Pennsylvania Impressionist work Interior of Woods by Raymond Theel, painted sometime in the late 1930s. There’s something so exuberant about the explosion of color and texture in the natural world.” |

Marie recently graduated from Tyler School of Art & Architecture with an MA in Art History and a concentration in Arts Management. She studied Art History & Marketing at the University of Notre Dame, with a focus on graphic design as effective communication in arts institutions.
When not perusing the galleries making content, you can usually find her biking in the Wissahickon, reading a good book, or at the climbing gym. |
