Dear Friends & Neighbors, It is officially Spring! The flowers and budding trees look gorgeous! Chestnut Hill looks especially clean and beautiful this week thanks to all the hardworking volunteers who came out to last Saturday’s cleanup day here in Chestnut Hill. A special thanks goes out to Beth Wright whose great organizational skills made it all happen. Thank you also to the businesses and restaurants who provided refreshments and supplies for the volunteers. This event coincided with Philly Spring Cleanup and sponsored by the Chestnut Hill Community Association, Chestnut Hill Business District, and Chestnut Hill Conservancy. Be on the lookout on Monday, April 13 (weather allowing) for the Pedestrian Safety Committee to be walking Germantown Ave. with representatives from the Phila. Streets Department to look at the condition of crosswalks (or lack of crosswalks) at each intersection and discuss the steps that can be taken short and long term to help protect pedestrians. Stay tuned for a calendar full of upcoming member events. If we have your email address and your membership is current, you’ll receive notification of each one and be given a link to register. They fill up quickly so don’t wait to register! Enjoy the daffodils and flowering magnolia trees, they always signal spring to me! Regards,
