Morris Arboretum Offers More Than 100 Classes for the Spring Season

Time to hit the refresh button on yourself and learn something new at one, or two of Morris Arboretum’s spring classes. With more than 100 courses offered, you’re bound to find something that interests you.  Here’s a few courses you may like to explore.

·         Water Management Solutions for your LandscapeSaturday, March 9, 1-3pm       

 This lecture introduces a wide array of affordable water management solutions, complete with discussions about permeable hardscape options and rain gardens.

 

·         Choosing Soil Amendments for your Garden: Compost, Biochar, Manure, and More!  Saturday, March 16, 10:30am-12noon.

Discover soil amendments to improve and support your garden.  Discussion will include topics such as how to improve compost piles, the best manure for a vegetable garden and techniques used to increase plant growth.

 

·         Wired Floral Jewelry, Sunday, March 17, 12:30-3:30pm

Create stunning floral jewelry and accessories. Participants will learn several new techniques and have to time to experiment with this new design trend.

·         Birding at the Arboretum: A Local Hotspot, Saturday, March 23, 8-11am                                              

Join Ruth Pfeffer to explore the Arboretum’s natural areas that provide great habitat for a wide variety of birds year-round. Expect to see resident birds as well as migrating raptors, warblers, and sparrows.
