It’s Member Monday! Today we are looking at Georgia Doyle and Lisa Howe, who together own and curate their beautiful boutique, Artisans on the Avenue. Artisans opened its doors in 2001 and moved to their current location, 8434 Germantown Avenue, in 2021. They offer an assortment of women’s clothing, accessories, home decor, and more that all fit in with their specific flare for design. With bright colors, geometric themes, and unique finds, Artisans truly feels like an artistic place where fashion is meant to be fun.

Their new storefront is stunning with exposed wood beams and industrial elements, helping to create the feeling of an artist’s studio. The juxtaposition of organic wood detail and the metal fixtures help to create an interesting and exciting environment to shop.

Georgia and Lisa have been friends for almost 40 years, and business partners for nearly half of their friendship. They enjoy having the store together, especially when it comes to buying. Their favorite part of running the shop, they note, is helping customers feel good in what they wear. Their clothing combines both style and comfort to leave their customers feeling happy, confident, and comfortable.

Aside from the stylish clothing selection, Artisans also offers jewelry and accessories. The colors are bright, and the pieces are guaranteed to make a statement with any outfit. When shopping at Artisans, it really does feel like you are looking at one of a kind pieces because they are all so unique. Artisans describes themselves as a place where “style transcends trends and classics get a little twist.”

Next time you’re on the avenue make sure you stop into Artisans on the Avenue!
