New Exhibition: Woodmere’s 79th Annual Juried Exhibition: Seeing the Story
June 5 through August 29, 2021
Woodmere’s annual juried exhibition, Seeing the Story, highlights contemporary work in a wide variety of media by artists living within fifty miles of the museum. This year’s juror, David Wiesner, has selected works of narrative art.
Wiesner will be at Woodmere on opening day from 2-4pm for an (outdoor) opportunity to meet the juror. Click here to plan your visit.

Saturday Night Jazz: Outdoor Concert Series Returns with Lou Rawls Tribute

The Woodmere and Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble partnership continues this summer with an outdoor concert series beginning June 5! Kick off the season and join us outdoors every Saturday evening for musical performances surrounded by monumental sculptures.

Campaign to Save St. Michael’s Hall
Woodmere has until June 15 to raise the funds to acquire St. Michael’s Hall and begin the restoration process. All gifts up to $2 million will be matched thanks to a generous commitment by a visionary community member.

History in Motion: Tom Judd’s Subway Murals

On view through Sunday, June 20, History in Motion offers museum visitors a glimpse into the artistic process, planning, and creation of Judd’s new Portal to Discovery mural at SEPTA’s 5th Street/Independence Hall Station. Don’t miss the opportunity to see the show AND a chance to meet the artist. Tom Judd will be at Woodmere for socially distanced opportunities to meet in the galleries on June 6 & 13.

The Art of Looking (virtual)
This monthly program will deepen your ability to make experiences with art more meaningful. By focusing for an extended period on one artwork at a time, the program engages your sensory perceptions and enables thoughts and impressions to evolve. Explore your thoughts and feelings in a fun environment that promotes dialogue with other participants.

ARTZ Connect Philadelphia Online Programs For people living with dementia and their care partners: ARTZ-Connect Philadelphia and Woodmere Art Museum offer engaging online programs twice a month through interactions with artworks. The programs are facilitated by ARTZ Philadelphia Director Dr. Susan Shifrin, an art historian, independent curator, and arts accessibility advocate. Learn & Create: Upcoming Art Classes
