Mt. Airy Learning Tree’s Annual Hidden Gardens Tour Returns June 1st with Seven Inspiring Private Gardens plus a Native Plant Stroll
PHILADELPHIA, PA, 29 April 2025 — Join Mt. Airy Learning Tree for our Annual Hidden Gardens Tour on Sunday, June 1, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. This self-paced, self-guided tour invites you to explore seven unique private gardens in our community—plus a special Native Plant Stroll. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out, you’ll find inspiration in a variety of landscapes featuring perennials, vegetables, native and habitat-friendly plants, and clever solutions to challenging terrain. Every year, we feature new gardens; this year, look for gardens on historic properties, a veggie garden that maximizes space, and a babbling brook water feature.
Start your tour by picking up a booklet and map at Ned Wolf Park (7018 McCallum Street, at Ellet Street) between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Gardens stay open until 4:00 pm. The tour takes place rain or shine. The tour is not a walking tour; driving is recommended. We will also provide a bike route. Tickets are $35 in advance, and $40 on the day of the Tour.
4 ways to get a ticket for the tour! Online at www.mtairylearningtree.org, by phone 215-843-6333, visit the MALT Office at 6601 Greene Street, Philadelphia, PA 19119, or mail us a check.
