Join us throughout October for all sorts of Autumn fun and spooky Halloween spirit! Chestnut Hill turns extra magical at this time of year with the charm and enchantment that only a historic village like ours can provide. Whether you’re joining us simply for a fall evening of dining outside at one of our restaurants or coming for a specific Halloween event, we know you’ll feel inspired to love Autumn even more because of your visit.
Trick or Treating is Sunday, October 29th, from 1-3 pm.

Chestnut Hill Community Association presents a Halloween Pet Parade

Chestnut Hill Business District sponsors Trick or Treating on the Hill
1:00 – 3:00 PM
Families are invited to stroll Germantown Avenue and Bethlehem Pike in costume. Participating businesses will be handing out candy and non-food treats from 1 to 3 PM. Visit shops and restaurants displaying a “Treats Here” poster.
Once again this year, select businesses will be part of the Teal Pumpkin Project. Started by FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education),the Teal Pumpkin Project offers a simple way to make trick-or-treating safer and more inclusive for the one in 13 children living with food allergies, and many others impacted by intolerances and other conditions. A teal pumpkin signals that, in addition to candy, you offer non-food trinkets and treats that are safe for all trick or treaters.

Morris Arboretum – Pumpkin Carving Party
10:30 AM–12:30 PM
Members: $30 • Non-members: $35
Come along to our workshop and learn how to carve amazing pumpkins! We will supply the pumpkin along with all the specialized equipment you need for carving, as well as patterns and ideas to help you make a spectacular pumpkin. This program is for adults and children (8+) as we’ll be using sharp tools. We will meet in the tent behind the Welcome Center. Wear clothes that you can get messy!
Morris Arboretum – Trick or Treat Trail

Join us for a costume and candy parade—show us your costumes and walk among the trees and scarecrows for treats!
Our Mother of Consolation Parish School – Trunk or Treat
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Join Commonwealth Youthchoirs (CY) Singers near Woodmere’s Straw Maze for a Special Halloween Performance in Costume. CY is a musical community that empowers children to from across the Philadelphia region to “find their voice” and experience the power of making music together. Children ages 7-11 will perform a festive repertoire for Halloween fun.
Admission: FREE
In case of rain, the 2 pm performance will be at the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill, 8855 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia.

The Amazing Doctor Magic returns with New illusions to amaze you!
Costume contest for kids at each performance with prizes. Treats for all.
Admission: Adults $10.00 at the door

Friends of Chestnut Hill Library – Spooktacular Fundraiser & Party
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Hilltop Books, 84 Bethlehem Pike
Don’t ghost on us! This will a night of fun supporting our Chestnut Hill Library.
The raffles are looking pretty spooktacular, if we do say so. Plus we’ll have some wicked treats from Matines, and a cauldron brew. Come in costume or come as you are. Bring the kids, friends/family, or join solo. $25/adult and kids enter for free – each at their own peril, but to the great benefit of our Library branch.
