October 22 – Preserving Voices (Virtual)
Peabody Award–winning producer Molly Murphy introduces participants to the power of oral history and audio storytelling—showing how anyone can begin preserving family and community stories using simple tools and techniques.
October 30 – The Art of Protection (Hybrid)
Michelle Impey of Chubb and Jessica Silverman of CCAHA share practical strategies for safeguarding fine art, jewelry, and archives, blending conservation best practices with proactive risk management and care.
Although distinct in topic, both free and accessible programs share a common goal: protecting what matters—voices, memories, and tangible pieces — during Archives Month Philly this October.
These events are free and open to the public, offered in collaboration with the Chestnut Hill Community Association and made possible by the Conservancy’s Lead Sponsor, Chubb, General Sponsors, Conservancy Members, and our 2025 Event Sponsor Ace Hardware and Home Services, and 2025 Supporting Sponsor E.G. Rall Landscape.
If you missed Night of Lights—or want to revisit it—the six slideshow films are now streaming on the Conservancy’s YouTube channel.
We’re also excited to share a preview of next month’s Discovering program—attached is the new press release for Discovering: The Last Notebook – A Conversation on Louis I. Kahn with Sue Ann Kahn and William Whitaker (November 13). This hybrid event explores the personal and creative legacy behind Kahn’s final works, continuing the Conservancy’s focus on connecting archives, memory, and place.
