The African Queen
1951
105 minutes
Then join us for a film that ranks at #17 on the American Film Institute’s 100 Years…100 Movies list. The African Queen pairs Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart (who won his only Oscar and only BAFTA for the role) as the consummate oddball couple. By turns, romantic and thrilling, the film was restored to its original Technicolor glory in 2010. The African Queen has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
Please check Tuesday Nights at the Movies on Woodmere’s website for the full schedule of this season’s films.
