Suzanne Cloud [$10]
After a super successful concert gig together at Jazz Bridge’s May Real Book Concert in Collingswood, the gang is back at the Bistro on Sunday night!
Jazz singer-songwriter Suzanne Cloud performs jazz classics and originals,”with a healthy dose of funk, dissonance, biting satire, and moral outrage”…Cloud’s voice ranges from melodic oration and soulful wails to sultry moans and mockingly saccharine excess, effects aided by her powerful projection, smooth glissandi, and effortless ornamentation.” (review-All About Jazz) But before that, she was schooled by Philly’s finest jazz glitterati: Eddie Green, Tyrone Brown, Johnny Coles, Jimmy Oliver, Sam Dockery and Evelyn Simms.
Cloud has teamed up with composer/guitarist Tom Glenn, an Emmy-award winner for his musical work with NJ Public TV and a monster musician who has toured and recorded with many top R&B stars, to write songs and record together. And bassist Lee Smith, a true legend on the jazz stage He has performed for over 40 years with many R & B and jazz legends including: The Delphonics, Blue Magic, Billy Paul, Mongo Santamaria, Sonny Fortune, Odean Pope, and many others. Come out and see what we’ve been working on!
