TOPIC:             Patient Safety in the Modern Hospital: Dramatic Improvements in Your Lifetime

The New York Times called ECRI “the country’s most-respected laboratory for testing medical products”. ECRI (formerly the Emergency Care Research Institute, founded in 1968) is a local nonprofit organization, located in Plymouth Meeting.   Many drive by ECRI daily and have no idea that behind those doors is the world’s largest independent nonprofit health technology assessment organization that researches the best approaches to improving patient care.  ECRI believes that the best ways to improve patient care require “The Discipline of Science” and the “Integrity of Independence”.  No one should miss Dr. Jeffrey Lerner’s talk about the significant improvements in patient safety in years past and present.
