Splashy ads show clever shop owners opening their pretty doors to eager customers, oozing the promise of finding the perfect gift for a special someone. I am one of those shop owners and I have those perfect gifts for someone’s special someone.” “Shopping at a local store where the owner very likely knows your name has a real value…Locally owned stores are the threads in the patchwork of our society.” – Molly Ellis, Owner of Threadwell and Chestnut Hill Business District board member “Small Business Saturday is such an important tradition that not only reminds people to shop at their favorite local places, but also reminds us the impact shopping small biz has. When you spend your dollars at these mom & pop businesses you stimulate local economies and strengthen the community. Not only that, but you support those who give their all to make their dream a reality and share their vision with you.”
“As a board member for both the Chestnut Hill Business and Community Associations, and a retailer in this vibrant neighborhood, I’ve seen firsthand how shopping small keeps our community thriving. Every purchase not only supports a local business but also strengthens the bonds that make Chestnut Hill a special place to live, work, and celebrate the holidays.”
