Volunteer for Fall Love Your Park Day – Nov. 9

Support Friends of the Wissahickon and park stewardship

Show your love for Wissahickon Valley Park and join Friends of the Wissahickon (FOW) for Fall Love Your Park Day on Sat., Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Volunteers are needed for planting needed at two locations: Mt. Airy Avenue and Summit Avenue Trails. Both start at 9 a.m. and meet at Wissahickon Environmental Center Tree House (300 W. Northwestern Ave., Philadelphia).

Love Your Park is a biannual event that engages citizens and volunteers to revitalize Philadelphia’s public green spaces and create safe, welcoming, and fun recreation opportunities in parks across the city. Nearly 100 park friends groups participate each season, engaging 5,000 volunteers annually.

FOW service days are open to the public. Registration is recommended in case of cancellation. Heavy rain, thunder and lighting, high winds, etc. cancels. Visit fow.org or the Upcoming Service Days page for updates. Cancellations will be posted by 8 a.m. on the day of the event.
