On Saturday, December 5, Musehouse will present two Pennsylvania writers of poetry, fiction, and memoir who will read from their recent books.
Marian Cannon Dornell will read from her debut collection, Unicorn in Captivity (Finishing Line Press, 2015), in which she weaves poetry, narrative, and stories to give the reader a glimpse into the history and legacy of slavery and segregation in her hometown of Harrisburg, Pa. She connects the past with the present and challenges us to understand our own sense of “the other” even today.
Lynn Hoffman will read from Radiation Days: The Rollicking, Lighthearted Story of a Man and His Cancer (Skyhorse Publishing, 2014), the recounting of his experience fighting throat cancer. With humor, wit, and practicality, Hoffman creates an uplifting memoir for anyone who has ever battled something they were told was “unbeatable.”
This Musehouse event is free and open to the public and will include complimentary refreshments.
