Morris Arboretum’s Tour, Dogs and Barks, Returns for the Fall

Morris Arboretum’s Dogs and Barks Tour, which showcases the Dogwood TREE and tree BARK, (not dogs with 4 legs) returns for the fall on Saturdays, September 8 & 22 and October 13 & 27 at 11am.

Join an experienced guide on this fun, one hour tour exploring the artistry of tree barks on many kinds of trees from all over the world.  Visitors will compare and contrast the bark from beech, filbert, hickory, lace-bark pine and paperback maple (Acer griseum, pictured here), to noticeably different barks on the beloved dogwoods. These tours start from the Widener Visitor Center, are included with garden admission and registration is not required.

Morris Arboretum is a 92-acre horticultural display garden that features a spectacular collection of mature trees in a beautiful and colorful landscape.  The official arboretum of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, effective 1988, Morris Arboretum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and accredited by the American Association of Museums.  For more information, visit:www.morrisarboretum.org
