Get Outside! Tips for Finding Hiking and Hidden Nature in the Delaware Valley

Join Lori Litchman, the author of 60 Hikes within 60 Miles: Philadelphia, for a talk about the best spots to get outside in the Delaware Valley. The book is a guide to the top hikes within 60 miles of the city. These selected trails transport you to scenic overlooks, wildlife hot spots, and historical settings that renew your spirit and recharge your body. Lori will also provide a short overview of things to look for on the trail, like spring ephemeral flowers and native plants and trees. Join Lori and take a virtual field trip through the varied trails along the Atlantic Coastal Plain and Piedmont Plateau. Any participants who wish to do so can order signed copies of 60 Hikes directly from Lori.

Lori Litchman grew up in the Pocono Mountains and calls the City of Philadelphia her first true love. She writes about nature and the environment and is a certified word nerd. She holds an MFA in creative nonfiction writing from Goucher College. When she’s not writing or hiking, she’s usually in her tiny backyard gardening.
