Hello 2020,

I hope that everyone had a great holiday season and is ready to start this new year fresh, rejuvenated and ready to create real change for yourself and others in your orbit. These last few years have been very exciting, and I am extremely proud of what we have done and what we are going to do in this coming year at KISMET.

I spent a lot of time over the holidays with my nose buried in an exciting new book, “Stealing Fire: How Silicon Valley, the Navy SEALs, and Maverick Scientists Are Revolutionizing the Way We Live and Work”. In it, they brought up the “flow state…a powerful state, allowing people in the delicate balance of challenge and skill to operate 5 times more efficiently than they might be able to operate in their out-of-flow states”. We’ll continue to find new ways we can bring something akin to that sense to your business in our community. Tell us what you are reading and what books motivate you. We are about to launch our new book club so make time to check that out as well.

I also watched the movie “GAME CHANGERS” that investigates the impact of eating meat in and on our culture that explores the value of a plant based diet. While I am not fully pushing meat off of my plate, I am certainly looking at what I eat in a different way and eating with more intention and focus. It brings to mind other aspects of my work and life that maybe I need to take a sharper eye to. What is your status quo and how can it be disrupted not just for the sake of change but to foster a cleaner and more appropriate application of your skills, time and energy? Tell us. We are going to be expanding our snack and drink supply in the coming weeks to launch an honor bar to really expand on what we put out on our table to help us all get more nutrition and to eat well.

We continue to expand on the work we are doing with RADIOKISMET: Philadelphia’s First Dedicated Podcast Studio down at the Spring Arts location. Our recent collaboration with Studio D, a member in our Manayunk location, will allow us to help you all grow into your content in new and innovative ways. Check out a podcast episode with Conrad Benner of Streets Dept below this message.

Let’s get busy and make 2020 an incredible year. Thanks so much for being a part of our world and a big thanks to Josh, Nanci, Maria, Brett, Keiffa, Margo, Zoe, Mike, Adriana, Dylan and the rest of our support team for their hard work, diligence, and good humor.

See you at KISMET!

With Respect,
Christopher Plant
