The Denver Art Museum has recently received a gift from the estate of the late Camille and Alex Cook. “Alien” is an embroidery by artist and friend of Gravers Lane Gallery, Marcia Docter. The Cooks were founding members of the Collectors of Fiber Art International (1991-2017) and Marcia Docter was one of its early champions and supporters. The Collectors of Fiber Art International’s membership spanned 18 countries and was composed of collectors, artists, gallerists, curators, educators, institutions and museums. Marcia Docter’s work can be found in numerous public and private collections including the Racine Museum of Art, Racine Wi., and the Museum of Arts and Design, N.Y.C.
