Friends of the Wissahickon Hosts Love Your Park Fall Service Day to Keep Wissahickon Valley Park

Clean & Green – 11/15

PHILADELPHIA – October 30, 2025- Friends of the Wissahickon (FOW) seeks volunteers to join the annual Love Your Park Fall Service Day on Saturday, November 15, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in Houston Meadow (900 Grakyn Lane).

Volunteers will be helping with invasive plant removal and trail work. No experience is needed. FOW provides gloves, tools and instruction. FOW encourages volunteers to work at their comfort level.

Participating in group service days is a fun and much-needed way to contribute to FOW’s work to keep the park beautiful and sustainable. Wear long pants and sturdy footwear, and bring a water bottle. Detailed information and the specific meeting location will be sent by email the day before the event.

Love Your Park is an annual citywide effort to encourage volunteers to help clean up local parks after a busy summer season and prepare these public green spaces for winter. FOW is one of 140 volunteer groups in the Park Friends Network collaborating in the event, along with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy.
