When I started painting, I was instantly enamored. After awhile, as I began to see my own distinctive style emerge, I saw happy all over the paintings. I enjoy hearing from people how my paintings make them smile.

I mostly create acrylic paintings on cradle wood panels that my husband constructs. Some people have said that my style and color remind them of Matisse – the way he moved away from realism and toward creating form via emotion. Happy, indeed. – Ilene Battin
