Wands & Wizards Night on the Avenue:
an evening of Potions, Pubs, and Magical Possibilities in Chestnut Hill.

When: 6-9 pm

What: New for 2017, to make the magic of the event more accessible for visitors – Chestnut Hill has replaced the Harry Potter Pub Crawl with Wands & Wizards on Germantown Avenue. No tickets required, no cost to attend (activities and entertainment options are pay-as-you-go unless otherwise noted), enough mischief to be managed by all.

Enjoy a special evening of magical fun including photo booths, performances by Secret Circus Aerialists, fortune tellers along Germantown Avenue, and much more. Spirited food and beverage specials will be available at participating restaurants throughout Chestnut Hill. Stores on the Avenue will remain open until 9 pm.

Family Movie Night and Pizza Party  8855 Germantown Avenue  5:00 pm – 7:00 pm  $10   Gather in the Gryffindor Common Room (Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill fellowship hall) to watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on the big screen and  enjoy a family friendly pizza party plus popcorn, beverages, and dessert. Tickets available on Ticket Leap and at the door.  All proceeds go to support the church’s mission outreach.

Costume Contest

When: 8 pm

Where: Jenks Academy of the Arts & Sciences 8301 Germantown Avenue

Cost: $10 to participate, free to spectate

Step into the spotlight dressed as your favorite Harry Potter character during the annual costume contest. Participants will dress in their best wizardly wardrobes and will be asked to recite a line attributed to their character in order to compete for cash prizes and all-important bragging rights. Registration details will be announced by September 25 via chestnuthillpa.com. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Seating for the costume contest will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
