Closing Reception:October 3rd | 5-8pm
Artist Talk by Lisa & Scott Cylinder | September 5th @ 6:30pm
Lisa and Scott Cylinder are nationally acclaimed studio jewelers and educators whose narrative-driven, mixed-media work has captivated audiences since 1998. Known for their masterful use of found objects and unconventional materials, the Cylinders blend storytelling, wit, and technical prowess in every piece. As co-founders of Chickenscratch Jewelry, they’ve exhibited internationally and taught at esteemed institutions such as Tyler School of Art and the National College of Art & Design in Dublin.
Calliope symbolizes their convergence of concepts and imagery taken from Greek Mythology, the Circus, and Carousels. Emphasizing fantastical creatures composed of brass wind instruments combined with their fabrications, the works are irreverent, metaphorical, and playful, evoking notions of youthful wonder and discovery. This fantastical collection will feature one-of-a-kind brooches, necklaces, and sculptural objects —each piece invites viewers into a world of invention, where craftsmanship becomes performance. |

Material Memory: Twisted Lines, Rooted Forms
Lisa Belsky & Barbara Straussberg
July 26 – September 18th
Closing Reception: September 5th | 5-8pm
Artist Talks: September 5th @ 6:30pm |

| At the heart of this exhibition is a deep respect for natural materials and traditional techniques—fiber, clay, paper—and their potential to carry meaning. The exhibition explores themes of memory, transformation, and female lineage through two distinct yet resonant material practices. Both artists approach their mediums with an experimental spirit shaped by personal histories and translate that into layered forms that reveal and conceal, collapse and endure. Their parallel experience of maternal loss (both artists lost their mothers in recent years) weaves through their newest work, and creates a poignant dialogue between structure and surrender, processing grief and growth. |
