Join Friends of the Wissahickon for its
Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Volunteer Day of Service Cleanup – Jan. 15
Join Friends of the Wissahickon (FOW) on Monday, January 15, from 9 a.m. to noon for its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Cleanup event. Help give back to the park, its users, the creek, and the plants and animals that depend on a clean park to survive. This year, we will be completing a variety of projects in the southern section of the park at Thomas Mansion, from removing invasive vines to cleaning up litter. This will not only make this area of the park more beautiful, but it will keep our watershed healthier for all!
No experience is needed, and FOW provides gloves, tools and instruction. Volunteer service days are a great way to help FOW take care of Wissahickon Valley Park. Be sure to wear warm layers and bring a water bottle. Snow or especially frigid temperatures will cancel this event.
