Concert: PCCH Gallery Choir and Fairmount Strings

Daniel Spratlan, Conductor

Arvo Pärt – Stabat Mater, Lewis Spratlan – Addiction (World Premiere)

4:00 pm, the Sanctuary of the church

Pulitzer Prize winning composer Lewis Spratlan’s new commissioned work for

choir and orchestra, Addiction, sets to music the poetry of those most affected by

the opioid epidemic: addicts and their family members. Pärt’s Stabat Mater depicts

Christ’s mother weeping for him at the cross, just as countless parents weep for their

children today. Please join us in Widener Hall for a reception and gallery viewing of

“Kensington Blues” following the concert.
