Ellie Richards

Bright House

Step into a world where art and function collide. Bright House showcases Ellie Richards’ imaginative approach to furniture, sculpture, and home décor, blending bold color, texture, and form to spark joy and conversation. With a background in woodworking and assemblage, Richards redefines the familiar, transforming everyday objects into works of playful ingenuity.

Kelly Dzioba

A Romance in Lower Mathematics

Inspired by the 1965 animated short The Dot and the Line, Kelly Dzioba’s work explores the transformative power of connection. Her minimalist, geometric, and expressive textile-based structures emerge from repeated gestures—twisting, knotting, and linking materials until they form cohesive, evocative forms. Dzioba’s process-driven approach seeks to create moments of limbic resonance while challenging the hierarchy of art and craft.

At Gravers Lane Gallery, we are honored to feature the timeless beauty of Mary A. Jackson’s sweetgrass baskets. These stunning creations are deeply rooted in the Gullah-Geechee culture of the Lowcountry of South Carolina, reflecting a rich heritage that has been passed down through generations. Crafted with native sweetgrass, bulrush, pine needles, and palmetto, each basket is a testament to the skill, patience, and artistry of its maker.

Sweetgrass basket weaving dates back centuries, blending African traditions with local materials to create pieces that are both functional and decorative. Beyond their intricate designs, these baskets carry stories of resilience and connection to the land. They serve as a bridge between the past and present, honoring the artistry of the Gullah-Geechee community while continuing to inspire new generations.
